Kia Maintenance Plan launched in Malaysia – five-year plan for Carnival and Sportage; priced from RM2,980

An introduction to Kia Sales Malaysia’s (KSM) fortified aftersales operations and service standards wasn’t the only highlight of today’s Kia Ownership Experience, as the event also saw the launch of the first-ever Kia Maintenance Plan (KMP).

According to the company, the KMP is a programme that allows customers to lock in servicing costs throughout the coverage period of up to five years. Essentially, you’re paying for your vehicle’s maintenance in advance so any changes in labour, parts or engine oil prices won’t affect you.

Available for the current line-up of models, the programme covers service items such as fully synthetic engine oil, engine oil filter, cabin filter, engine air filter, brake fluid, spark plugs and a multi-point inspection.

In terms of pricing, the Kia Maintenance Plan goes for RM3,580 for the Carnival (2.2D, all variants), while it is RM2,980 for the 1.6T version of the Sportage. The 2.0 NA version of the SUV is also included in the programme, with the price for its plan being RM3,680.

Service intervals are every 12 months or 10,000/15,000 km according to the terms and conditions, which also states eligible vehicles must be less than 11 months old (from warranty start date) with a mileage of under 10,000 km. The KMP programme is also tied to the vehicle it was purchase for and transferable to subsequent owners.
