PDRM is waiting for a report from Puspakom to complete its investigation on the case involving a VIP police escort car crashing into a civilian vehicle at KM259 of the PLUS North South Highway last Saturday.
JSPT Bukit Aman director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri told Harian Metro that all those who were involved in the accident have had their statements recorded. “As soon as the investigation papers are complete, we will send it to the deputy public prosecutor for further action,” he told the daily today.
A dashcam video is making the rounds on social media, most possibly from the Proton Saga that was hit. It shows a PDRM Proton X70 clearing the way for a VIP convoy in rainy, low-visibility conditions. A dark-coloured vehicle with strobe lights then follows at speed, lane-splitting and hitting the Saga.
A child is then heard crying before the video cuts to the Saga’s badly-damaged rear. A white Toyota Camry, not seen in the dashcam footage, is also shown with a broken left headlamp.
