PLUS expects 2.2 million vehicles returning to Klang Valley fr June 4-7 after public holiday, festive season

PLUS Malaysia is expecting nearly 2.2 million vehicles daily on its highway network for traffic returning into the Klang Valley, with peak traffic days anticipated to be June 4 to 7 this weekend. This follows the festive and public holiday period of Hari Raya Aidiladha, Wesak Day, the official birthday of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, during which a similar volume of traffic was anticipated.

The surge in traffic involves a combination of long-distance traffic movements as well as inter-city travel between major towns heading towards the Klang Valley after the end of the festive and school holiday period, the highway operator stated.

Highway users are therefore advised to adhere to the MyPLUS-TTA travel time advisory schedule via the PLUS mobile app, and plan journeys accordingly, which is crucial to help balance traffic flow and mitigate congestion at key traffic hotspots along its highways, PLUS Malaysia stated.

As before, PLUS will activate Smart Lanes at 33 locations to aid in traffic and incident management, while all public facilities at rest and service areas (R&Rs) and lay-bys, including food and beverage stalls, suraus, and toilets, remain open around the clock.
