Calling Penangites and Northerners alike! Lotus Cars Malaysia is set to bedazzle the region with a five-day showcase of unbridled speed, cutting-edge technology and futuristic design. Where? Penang’s Gurney Plaza. When? January 21-25 from 10am to 10pm daily.
You’ll be able to get up close and personal with two all-electric powerhouses – the Emeya sedan and Eletre SUV. Both feature two motors and all-wheel drive – in ‘600’ form, the powertrain develops an abundant 612 PS and 710 Nm of torque, which sprints the Eletre to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and the Emeya in an even snappier 4.15 seconds.
The impressive performance is bolstered by large batteries – 112 kWh (107 kWh usable) on the Eletre and 102 kWh on the Emeya. WLTP ranges of 530-600 km and up to 610 km respectively mean you won’t be plugging in often, and when you do, you’d better be prepared to eat your lunch quickly.
Because they’re both 800V EVs, they can charge briskly. The Eletre takes up to 350 kW DC while the Emeya can swallow up to 420 kW DC, bringing their batteries from a 10% state of charge to 80% in as little as 20 and 15 minutes respectively. Even if you go AC, you won’t have long to wait, because they can both take up to 22 kW, which is pretty much the best there is.
But there are many things that numbers – no matter how spectacular – cannot tell you about. Come to Gurney Plaza, sit in these cars and experience them first-hand, including their luxurious, tech-laden interiors. Then it’s time for a spin – both the Emeya and Eletre will be made available for test drives, there and then. You’ll see and appreciate how driving engagement is so much a part of the Lotus experience, as those high power-to-weight ratios quicken your pulse and reinvigorate your senses.
The focal point for all things Lotus in northern Malaysia that is the Lotus Penang showroom, is set to reopen by the first quarter of 2026, to welcome customers both existing and potential. WhatsApp Lotus Sales at +6012-238-8407 for more information and RSVP here.
